Looks more like a cave or tunnel than a trail. It's a nice illustration but I am not sure what is going on or what the background is exactly. Were this one panel in a graphic novel it might be clearer, but it's someone reaching for something in some kind of space and what does it mean? It wants to tell a story but there is too much lead in that is missing to lend any drama to it. I'm invested in it, but also feeling there will be no resolution because it's just a single random illustration and that leaves it feeling like kind of a let down. This brief instant is all that will ever be shown.
